Puntland president endorses Somali new premier

the president of Puntland regions in Somalia Abdirahman Mohamed Farole, has endorsed Saturday the appointment of Somali new prime minister.

Somali president Sheik Sharif Sheik Ahmed Friday appointed, Omar Abdrashid Ali Sharmke, as Somali premier in neighbouring Djibouti.

“We welcome the nomination of the new prime minister, I do not personally know him but his father was a famous leader who changed and improved the nation,” said Mr. Farole.

Speaking to the reporters in his office in the port town of Bossasso Abdirahman Farolle said that Puntland administration would work the new Somali government.

Demonstrations in favour of the new prime minister took place in Puntland regions.

In Mogadishu, the Somali capital, hundreds of people also gathered in the centre of Banadir administration building and supported Abdirashid Ali Sharmarke, newly appointed prime minister of Somalia.
