25 people killed in fresh fighting between ONLF rebels and Ethiopia soldiers

Fierce fighting between rebels and Ethiopian troops killed at least twenty five people and injured fifteen others Saturday in Mustahil town in eastern Ethiopia, witness said.

Witnesses say the two sides have used heavy gunfire and burning vehicles could be seen around the fighting areas.

Residents said the fighting started after anti- Ethiopian Somali rebels attacked a convoy of Ethiopian troops who were traveling from Wardher town to the border between Somalia and Ethiopia.

MOGADISHU (Mareeg)—Fierce fighting between rebels and Ethiopian troops killed at least twenty five people and injured fifteen others Saturday in Mustahil town in eastern Ethiopia, witness said.




Witnesses say the two sides have used heavy gunfire and burning vehicles could be seen around the fighting areas.




Residents said the fighting started after anti- Ethiopian Somali rebels attacked a convoy of Ethiopian troops who were traveling from Wardher town to the border between Somalia and Ethiopia.

Independent sources from the region say sporadic fighting is continuing in the region and a lot of people who fled from the fighting areas reached in central Somali towns.

No group has claimed the responsibility of the fighting yet.
