Somali-American appointed Columbus (Ohio) city councillor

Mr. Musa Farah, a Somali American and a long time resident of central Ohio who is the president of Horn of Africa Community Center, which is an organization that serves the immigrant community of central Ohio, has recently been appointed by the Columbus city council on June 9, 2010, to become a commissioner for the Columbus Community Relations Commission.
This prestigious position entails taking on responsibilities with the commission concerning, the assistance of civic and business leaders, elected officials and citizens of Columbus on issues of ethnicity, racial and cultural diversity.

The Community Relations Commission is an entity that is completely devoted to developing Columbus into a city that not only fosters diversity but also promotes pluralism so every family feels welcome.

The work of the Community Relations Commission is essential to the development of Columbus into a city that welcomes all of its citizens. Musa Farah will be the most recent addition to the team currently in place. Mr. Farah is also a member of the executive committee of the Franklin County Democratic Party.
