The situation with the Georgian sailors captured by Somali pirates at the beginning of September is getting worse, Novosti-Georgia reports.
According to the latest data, being furious with the delayed ransom, the pirates have brutally beaten up their prisoners.
They have been giving them no food or water for five days already. In this way, the pirates reckon to hasten those who are settling the ransom issue.
"The prisoners are in a bad physical condition. They are beaten every day so as to bring pressure and get the demanded sum of the ransom", - Director for Greenwich-21st Company Sergo Devadze has stated.
He told that "one of these days, almost all the crew members called home asking their families to help them as quick as possible for the pirates have been giving them no food or water for five days".
Negotiations between the Frio Ventures ship owning company and the capturers have stuck. The ship owners are not ready to pay the demanded amount, which, according to various data, makes up from 3 to 15 million dollars, while the pirates refused the company's offer to take the captured vessel as a ransom.
There are three Turks besides the 16 Georgian sailors on board the ship. Let us remind you that the pirates offered Tbilisi to buy out their citizens for one million dollars but the Georgian authorities ignored the offer.
