IGAD head of states’ meeting brought historic decissions to Somalia

The Foreign Minister  as well the Deputy Prime Minister of Somalia Federal Government Fawsiya Yusuf Hagi Aden welcomed the statement by the IGAD heads of states’ meeting in Addis Ababa on Friday relating Somalia national stabilization and administration setting plan, RBC Radio reports.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and the foreign minister both returned to Mogadishu today from Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia.

“As you go with, IGAD head of states fully endorsed demands from the Federal Government of Somalia.” Fawsiya told reporters at press conference in Mogadishu.

“The government will lead the efforts of regional administration formation as well as the national stablization program.” she added.

The minister has also reaffirmed that Mogadishu based government will organize the locals to consult for the administration making for the areas where there was already peace as the security operations will continue into the areas under Al Shabab control.

This comment came hours after a joint communique from the heads of states of IGAD on Friday emphasized the need for all processes of the  ongoing  efforts towards setting up Somali regional administration  and  stabilization  efforts,  to  be  anchored due to leadership of the government of the Federal Republic of Somalia
