A Somali charged with creating disturbance at the German embassy yesterday told a court he has no regrets for his actions. Mohammed Handule was consequently jailed six months after pleading guilty to the charge. Handule threatened a guard at the embassy at Riverside, Nairobi, on June 14.
He had accompanied a woman who was seeking for visa at the embassy to join her husband abroad when he accosted a guard for demanding that he produces an entry ticket. He tried to force his way in, the court was told. He shouted at the guards that he had paid a lot of money yet was getting poor services.
A guard, Christopher Sinino, called for back up which helped restrain Handule when he turned violent. He was later detained at Muthangari police station.
The anti-terrorism and diplomatic police units had also applied for his further detention saying "the place where the offense was committed was very sensitive hence we need to get some information from him."
