Duplex fire displaces Somali refugees

A fire forced 19 Somali refugees out of their homes Thursday evening. It happened near 700 East and 1500 South in Salt Lake City.

One man says his family was sitting outside with neighbors when a small child ran up to say smoke was coming from the apartment. It's a duplex with four adults and 15 children -- the adults have been here for five years.

Both sides of the duplex are so damaged, no one can live there.

"The Red Cross is providing food, shelter and clothing, as well as comfort for all 15 little kids," said Laina Roundy, representative of the American Red Cross.

No one was hurt in the fire, and investigators are still trying to determine what caused it.
