The pirates embarked on board after chasing it in the Arabian Sea not far from the coast of India and about 1,800 miles from Somalia.
The ship was on its way to Europe from Singapore.
According to the UN’s data, since the beginning of the year Somali pirates have seized 37 civil ships.
