Afghan and Somali child refugees detained in eastern Slovakia

Four Somali refugees aged 15 and 16 were detained by Slovak border police near Stakčín in the Snina district, the SITA newswire reported.

Their health was good but they had no travel documents. The Office of Labour, Social Affairs and Family will place them in a centre for unaccompanied juveniles, the Sobrance border police directorate spokeswoman, Agneša Kopernická, informed SITA.

Two other youths were detained in Ruský Hrabovec in Sobrance district. The two sixteen-year old Afghanis left their homeland several months ago and their relatives allegedly paid €12,000 for each of them to reach the European Union. They will be placed in the centre for unaccompanied juveniles as well.
