American Embassy Holds Football Tournament for Somali Youth in Nairobi

A football tournament titled the United Youth for the Somali peace has been held in East Leigh neighborhood in the Kenyan capital Nairobi by the American embassy for the social affairs, Shebelle's Muhsin reported on Sunday.

Reports from Nairobi say that the American embassy organized the football competition and held for at least 11 teams of Somali youth in East Leigh neighborhood in Nairobi and held in the football playing field of Pangani primary school in Nairobi Kenya.

"My name is Ramadan Omar Nimale. We are very glad to attend the football tournament which the American embassy for the social affairs in Nairobi organized us. We are also very happy to win the football tournament if we are the team from north East Leigh.

Really it was very interesting football challenge between the Somali youth in Nairobi Kenya and we expect to hold such this football tournament here once again because it is good for understanding the Somali youth," said one of the Somali youth players who won the football game.

Travis Blank, a member of the American embassy for the Social affairs in Nairobi told Shabelle radio that they had organized the football tournament for the Somali youth in Nairobi to unite the Somali youth to play and to introduce one another to solve the problems in the Somali capital Mogadishu and whole the country.

One of the 11 Somali youth teams called East Leigh from north East Leigh neighborhood in Nairobi won the football completion at the final of the football game which lasted for 11 hours.

Lastly all members of the American embassy in Nairobi gave more prizes and rewards for all the Somali youth teams who attended the football tournament that was named the United Youth for the Somali peace.

It is the first time the American embassy for the social affairs in Nairobi held like this football competition for the Somali youth in East Leigh neighborhood in the Kenyan capital Nairobi which the embassy said that it was aimed to unite and introduce the Somali youth to take part the peace process for Somalia.
