Somalia: Islamists Welcome Legislatures' Approval of Sharia Law

Sheik Muse Abdi (Arale), a spokesman of the Islamic organization of Hisbul Islam (Islamic party), the wing led by Dr. Omar Iman Abu Bakar has welcomed on Sunday yesterday's decision in Mogadishu which the Somali parliament unanimously endorsed the Sharia Law to be ruled with the country.

"We welcome the legislatures' decision for passing the Sharia law to be ruled in Somalia and it is good thing to hear the ears of Somali people that the parliamentarians agreed togetherly supporting the Sharia law and suggested them to fulfill it as practically," Sheik Arale said.

Sheik Arale told Shabelle radio that the government is required to contemplate the Sharia law for the areas where it rules and solve the problems of the government soldiers those commit crimes against the people in Mogadishu.

Asked about whether they will halt the fighting against the government if it endorsed to rule the country with Sharia law, he replied that the reason of the conflict was the presence of the foreign troops in Somalia and other issues like the constitution of the Impagathi Kenya and the power sharing based on 4.5.

The statement of Hisbul Islam spokesman the wing led by Dr. Omar Iman comes as the other wing of the party supported the decision of the Somali government on Saturday which the legislatures endorsed to rule the country with the Sharia law.

On the other hand the parts of the Somali people in Mogadishu like traditional elders, scholars and all the Somali people have welcomed the Somali legislatures' announcement about the endorsement of the Sharia law to be ruled the country.

Sheik Muse Agaweyne, a chairman of Hirab elders, Mohamed Tahliil Warsame, a chairman of Somali Peace seekers' Council, Imam Omar Mo'allin Abshir, one of the Somali scholars are all part of those who welcomed the decision of the Somali parliamentarians who unanimously agreed the Sharia law to be ruled in Somalia yesterday in a session they held in the Somali capital Mogadishu.
