Minneapolis Police report that a ten-year-old girl gone missing Sunday morning was found safely. Namo Abdinur Ahmed was located around 6 p.m. She had walked into Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
The Minneapolis Emergency Communications Center received a call from Children’s Hospital of Minneapolis stating that a child matching the description provided in media reports had walked into their emergency room.
Minneapolis Police confirmed that the child was indeed Namo Ahmed, who had been missing since 10 a.m. this morning. Presently the child is being reunited with her mother.
Police don't suspect any foul play. They think she wandered off instead of going to her religious classes for reasons unknown.
The missing girl had exited a car driven by her mother in a parking lot and was walking just ahead of them to a nearby religious class to which she never showed up.
Officers made door to door sweeps in the area, and spread the word in the Somali community. They also employed a police canine to track her and alerted metro police, including Bloomington, where the girl lives.
