Man's death at hospital raises toll from Cedar-Riverside fire to 3 | Star Tribune

A man injured in the New Year’s Day fire in Minneapolis’ Cedar-Riverside neighborhood has died in the hospital, raising the fire’s death toll to three.
Abdiqani Adan, 29, of Minneapolis died Friday afternoon at Hennepin County Medical Center, the county medical examiner’s office said.
Adan died of “complications of injuries sustained in a building fire.” His death remains under investigation.
Earlier Friday, a second body was found in the building’s rubble. A Minneapolis Fire Department spokesman confirmed that the body was that of the second and final person who had been unaccounted for after the blast.
No official identification of the second body has been released, but family and friends said it was that of Mrimri Farah, who was about 60.
The first body, found Thursday, was that of Farah’s roommate, Ahmed Farah Ali, 57, according to the Hennepin County medical examiner.
Initially, at least 14 people were injured in the explosion and fire at 516 Cedar Av. S., six of them critically. The building housed a grocery and a 10-unit apartment building.
Demolition of the building was completed Friday afternoon, and the investigation into the cause continues.
