Bin Laden unlikely to sway Somalis against new government

Osama bin Laden's call for Somalis to overthrow President Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed is unlikely to induce action from Somalis who are distrustful of foreigners meddling in their affairs and exhausted by two decades of bloodshed, according to this report.

Somali effectively has been without a functioning central government since 1991 and many Somalis appear prepared to give Sharif a chance to beginning addressing the country's many challenges.
