Somalia: Ethiopians still involve in Somalia conflict

Ethiopian officers met with Somali government officials, who routed in yesterday’s fighting with al-Shabab hardliners, in ElBarde town in Bakool region, witnesses told Mareeg online on Thursday.

Reports say that the officers from the border between Somalia and Ethiopia met with government officials and it is not known what they have talked about in their meeting.

Residents say that the meeting was a closed doors meeting and the Ethiopian officers gave a military supply and other equipments to the government officials in the town.

Witnesses said that the Ethiopian officers were at least nine and returned back to their country where they flew last night after the meeting with the Somali government officials.

Residents expressed concern about the fighting between the Islamist hardliners of al-Shabab and government soldiers.

They have been fighting in Bay and Bakol regions recently and there is fear that another fighting can erupt at any time as the two sides are regrouping.
