Somalia: Somali affairs do not concern Osama Bin Laden, says Sheik Aweys

Osama bin Laden, the leader of al-Qaeda, has called on the people of Somalia to overthrow Sharif Sheikh Ahmed, their president in an audio recording that was posted on a website on Thursday.

Speaking to Al-Arabia TV, Sheik Aways said the future of Somalis is in the hands of the Somali people and Bin Laden can not involve it directly.

"Somalia knows it is future and who can involve, but it is not some thing for Osama Bin Laden and Al-Qaeda either "said Sheik Hassan Dahir Aways.

Bin Laden compared Sheikh Ahmed to Hamid Karzai, the Afghan president, Burhanuddin Rabbani, a former Afghan president, and Ahmed Shah Massoud, a prominent commander who fought during a 10-year war against Soviet occupation in Afghanistan in his audio recording that was posted on Al-Sahab website on Thursday.
