Rochester, Minnesota NW neighborhood targeted by hate crimes

Rochester police are increasing their presence in one northwest neighborhood after a number of victims say they are being targeted in a series of hate crimes.

Victims say the vandalism started in July 2010, but the latest incident happened late Sunday night or early Monday morning.

The homes are all on the 4500 block of Manor Woods Place Northwest and the vandalism seems to be aimed at minority families in the neighborhood.

Houses and yards have been trashed with toilet paper.

Eggs are being thrown at their houses and cars.

One man had tires slashed on four of his vehicles.

Six families were targeted in the latest string of vandalism and three of the families said they have had several occurrences with hate crimes since 2010.

Police say there are no leads at this time.

If you have any information that could help law enforcement, you can stay anonymous by contacting Crime Stoppers.
