At least seven people have been killed in a twin suicide bomb attack in the town of Baidoa in southern Somalia.
The attack, which also wounded more than 20 people, happened outside a restaurant frequented by residents and local journalists. Two of the dead are journalists working with London-based Somali TV organisations, says BBC Somali.
Various armed groups have been battling for control of Somalia since President Siad Barre was ousted in 1991.
Captain Hassan Nor told the Associated Press news agency that a suicide car bomber drove into a crowd, detonating explosives. A second blast rang out when another suicide bomber walked into the restaurant.
The Director of Baidoa Hospital, Dr Laahi Maxamed Aadan, told the BBC that it received 41 people around 18:00 local time (15:00 GMT), some of whom have been discharged for minor injuries.
"Seven were already dead bodies. We are aware that more than seven people died in the two explosions, but the hospital received only those seven dead," he said.
No group has yet said it carried out the attack.
However the al-Qaeda-linked al-Shabab militant group is responsible for the majority of suicide attacks in Somalia.
