Somali Government Nightmare as Al-Shabab 'Steps Up' Slaughter of Officials

Making good on a promise to kill government officials "one by one," al-Shabab fighters killed four more people on Monday, and vowed to "step up" the attacks.
Three government officials and their driver were gunned down by al-Shabab at the airport in Somalia's capital, Mogadishu on Monday, as the group made good on a promise to continue killing.
"We shall step up killing those who work for the government or at their airport," the group's spokesman told AFP.
On Sunday, suspected al-Shabab members killed a civil servant in Mogadishu and escaped.
