The security minister of the Somali government, Omar Hashi Aden announced Sunday fighting against the Islamist insurgents who are still continuing the fighting and he also called for Somalia’s national security forces to be ready fighting against the Islamist rebels.
Speaking at a ceremony commemorating the 49 anniversary of the Somali National Forces in Villa Baidoa Centre in Mogadishu he said expatriates are involved in the wars that are still ongoing in the capital.
“You saw what happened yesterday, they shelled civilian areas and killed innocent people, so we can not watch foreigners from Afghanistan to make explosives in our capital,” Omar Hashi Aden said.
“They think that our national forces can not do any thing,” The minister added.
The minister said that the government would defend the civilians and called for the government soldiers again to be ready fighting against “the internal enemies.”
“We have been fighting to free the Ethiopians from the country. The Ethiopian troops left the country and the government accepted to rule the country with Sharia Law and they rejected, so after this time we have to fight against them,” Omar Hashi said.
The new government in Somalia, led by President Sheik Sharif Sheik Ahmed, faces the daunting task of bringing together various feuding factions and armed rebels in the country.
