Somalia’s government which recently entered at odds relations with Puntlan semiautonomous region has criticized region of speaking on affairs of the Somalia government which is officially clear-cut.
"Puntland doesn't have the right to talk about the extension of the mandate of Somalia's parliament since it recently declared that it had no confidence in the transitional government," Abdulfatah Rashid, a Somali MP who hails from Puntland said.
He urged the region to be clear about its position and state whether it is part of the transitional government or not as it’s pushing a self-rule politics.
Mr. Rashid said that it was not possible for the transitional government to open talks with Puntland before it made its position clear.
Last month, Puntland has banned Somali officials from entering their territory and broke ties with Somali government, since then the two sides’ strife looked being at a cross point and widened gaps in the conflict between the TFG and the Puntland Administration.
Several politicians have called upon both sides to discuss their political differences without any preconditions and revive the working relations they had, but Puntland has rebuffed any talks.
Somalia has been without government since 1991 after dictator Mohamed Siad Barre was overthrown by armed warlords that turned the horn of Africa into an endless decades of war.
