Somalia: Parliament speaker reaches in the capital

Somali parliament speaker, Adan Mohamed Nur Madobe leading some lawmakers came to Somalia’s capital Mogadishu on Friday.

The speaker from Nairobi, Kenya was welcomed in Aden Ade international airport in Mogadishu by some parliamentarians.

The speaker said he met in Nairobi UNDP and other United Nations organizations and their meeting completed successfully.

He was escorted to the presidential place where he met with Somalia’s president Sheik Sharif Sheik Ahmed.

The president and the prime minister have been in Mogadishu for the last two weeks and met with clan elders, clerics, and business community leaders.

It is the first time that the speaker of the parliament arrives in Mogadishu sine Somalia’s parliament elected Sheik Shatif Sheik Ahmed as president of the unity government.
