Ethiopian troops hijack Somali trucks

Ethiopian troops have hijacked more Somali trucks in Mustahil town in the regional state of Somalia in Ethiopia, witnesses said on Sunday.

Ethiopia pulled out its troops from Somalia last month as a part of an agreement between the Alliance for the Re-liberation of Somalia and the transitional government.

Locals say that the Ethiopian troops have hijacked several trucks that were transmitting different goods from Baladweyn town in central Somalia to Wardher, in the regional state of Somalia in eastern Ethiopia.

The Ethiopian troops have been pouring in the border between the two countries for the last three weeks and hijacked civilian trucks that travel on the road that connect between Somalia and Ethiopia.

Sources say that the Ethiopian troops use the trucks as military vehicles deploying troops and taking military supplies during consecutive operations they conduct in the border.

Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi, said that Ethiopia has no intention to go back to Somalia.
