Intellectuals and elders in Mogadishu called Wednesday for the Somali people in Mogadishu to defend the assassins who are accustomed to assassinate MPs, Politicians, government officials, and other prominent people.
Imam Omar Moalin Abshir of Hawiye clan elders called for the people in Mogadishu to take weapons and defend what he called the factions who kill the prominent people and the Islamist officials in the capital.
Mr. Abshir said it is time that the people will stand to defend from the killers and added that they know those who are slaughtering the people.
"The killers who kill the intellectuals and other prominent people in Mogadishu are the Shabab faction. They have attempted to assassinate me before," said Omar Moalin Abshir.
The spokesman of Hawiye Clan Elders Ahmed Derie Ali has also accused al-shabab of being behind the killing of the Islamic Courts official who was killed in Mogadishu on Tuesday.
There is no word from al-Shabab about the latest accusations from Mogadishu elders.
