Somalia: Ahlu Sunna imposes curfew to central town overnight

Forces from Ahlu Sunna Waljama’a religious moderate organization have imposed a curfew to Abdud Waq town in Galagadud region in central Somali overnight, witnesses said on Friday.

Witnesses said Ahlu Sunna Waljama’a forces traveled in the town with vehicles mounted with loudspeakers telling the people to take the order of the curfew.

The security forces of Ahlu Sunna walhjama’a said the curfew started from 9:00 local time in the evening to 6:00 in the morning.

More forces from Ahlu Sunna Waljama’a have been deployed in the town of Abud Waq last night.

All business centers in Abud Waq were closed on Thursday evening and people kept indoors, but the forces captured some people who defied the order and were taken to the police station in the town.

Ahlu Sunna Waljama’a forces conducted operations of disarmament in the town on Thursday and succeeded to disarm some people in the town and confiscated thier guns.

It is not known why Ahlu Sunna Waljama’a imposed the curfew to the town but there has been fighting between Ahlu Sunna Waljama’a and al Shabaab in central Somalia recently.
