Somalia: Al Shabaab displays expiry food they found in Mogadishu

Forces from al Shabaab Islamists conducted operations Monday in Bakaro market in Mogadishu and displayed expiry food they found in stores in Bakaro market.

The expiry food flour stored in stores in Bakaro market in Mogadishu. The governor of al Shabaab in Banadir region Sheik Ali Mohamed Hussein showed reporters in Mogadishu expiry food and drugs.

Sheik Ali warned the business people in Bakaro against keeping expiry food in their stores and gave five days to display it.

He called the people in Bakaro market in Mogadishu to work for the hygiene in the places they are doing their businesses.

In other news, al Shabaab has changed the administration of Bay and Bakol regions in south western Somalia on Monday.

Al Shabaab declared that the leader of Bay and Bakol regions was changed in a meeting attended by members from al Shabaab, clan elders, and politicians in Baidoa.

The former leader of the regions Sheik Hassan Mohamed Ali said he accepted the nomination of the new leader Sheik Mahad Omar Abdikarin.

Spokesman for the intellectuals of Bay and Bakol regions said al Shabaab dishonored their commitment that they would transfer the administration of the regions to the civil society groups in Baidoa.
