The accelerated fighting in Somali over the past two months have launched a new wave of refugees. The islamist group, al-Shabab, is fighting for domination and uses sharia–based cruel punishments, mutilation of limbs and on the extreme the beheading of the guilty.
Al-Shabab, founded five years ago, has allied with politically more stable but islamist Herb-Islam movement. On May 7 they launched an attack on the Somali interim government.
Finland now has more than 10 000 Somalis
In 2008, 1176 asylum seekers from Somalia arrived to Finland. Immigration Authorities estimate that the number will triple or quadruple over the next few years, because the law guarantees the right for family members to unite. At the moment, 10,000 people of Somali background live in Finland. If the immigration authorities' estimate is correct, the number will double in the next two to three years.
Sweden and Norway have tightened their immigration rules, and as a result the number of asylum seekers in [idiotic] Finland has increased.
In 1990, the number of Somalis in Finland was less than 100.
