Wayne Suliana the Fiji national still held hostage by Somali pirates has not spoken with his mother for the last 3 weeks.
Suliana, along with his fellow crew mates were taken hostage by Somali pirates on the 2nd of April when their ship the Hansa Stavanger was intercepted off the Somali coast.
His mother Vamarasi, this morning confirmed to FBCL News that she hasn’t spoken to her son for the last 3 weeks.
She had earlier stated that her son always called every Sunday when the pirates allowed the hostages 5 minute calls - to speak with their families, in an effort to try and get them to plead with their governments to hasten negotiations for their release.
Last week, it was announced that the Fiji and Tuvalu governments were working together to try and secure the release of their nationals.
It is understood that the German registered ship also has a couple of Tuvalu nationals on board.
