Somalia: Al-Shabab’s assassination attempt on Yusuf Indha-Adde foiled

Sheik Yusuf Mohamed Siad better known as ‘Indha Cadde’ means ‘White Eyes’ a militia
commander among the divided Hizbul on Saturday said he foiled an attempt of
assassination against himself.

He said it was a plot orchestrated by Al-Shabab militant group which linked to the
international terror network Al-Qaeda.

“A small boy has entered a room where I was having talks with elders, he headed
towards me then I suspected that something wrong with the boy and I suddenly caught
him in cross hands on the back, I shocked when I saw him carrying explosive devices,
he carried out loudly and we then diffused the bomb,” Yusuf Indha-adde said on the
telephone line with Waagacusub Media..

The young man, who was filmed and then executed by Indha-Adde’s security guards,
detailed about the people that sent him to blew up himself and kill Yusuf
Indha-Adde. He said he was sent by prominent Islamist officers within Al-Shabab
hardliners.

What so surprised Indha-adde was how it happened that unknown young militant passed
the security staff and attempted to murder the leader.

Indha-Adde, former warlord is expected to show the journalists about the recorded
video of the young militant before being killed.

The terror of Al-Shabab and the Hizbul Islam’s weak wing of Omar Iman have deep
animosity with Yusuf Indha-Adde after he had chosen to take part in the peace
efforts aimed to end the long running crisis in the country.

Indha-Adde who was among the leaders that entered the fiercest fighting with the
Ethiopian troops during their occupation in Somalia.

After receiving much pressure by his clan men, Indha-Adde was convinced to stop his
involvement in the war and now became a leader for peace that is believed to be
unpleasant by the Somalia’s trouble makers.
