Somalia: Deputy speaker says parliament can not meet for security reasons

Somali deputy speaker of the Somali parliament Professor Mohamed Omar Dalha, said Monday that the parliament could not meet for security reasons.

Professor Dalha told reporters that the tensions in the Somali capital Mogadishu were the main aim that the parliament's meetings were postponed adding that there are also many seminars which the parliamentarians are busy in and out of the country.

Asked about the possibility of their gathering in the future, Professor Mohamed Omar Dalha replied that their hope is good and will restart their meetings.

The statement of the deputy speaker of the Somali parliament professor Mohamed Omar Dalha comes as mortars targeted the parliament centre in their last session in Mogadishu.
