Somali foreign minister Mohamed Abdulahi Omaar has met with Syrian vice president Faruq AShara in Damascus, officials said on Monday.
Mohamed Abdulahi Omaar has talked about the Syrian vice president about the violence in the Somali capital Mogadishu and how the Syrian government can support Somalia.
Officials from the Syrian vice president said Somali foreign minister presented the vice president a letter from Somali president Sheik Sharif Sheik Ahmed to his Syrian counterpart Bashar al-Asad.
Mr. Omaar thanked Syria for its efforts to support Somalia. Syria has not pledged any thing for the Somali government yet.
