A document that Mareeg website has found recently shows that Qaran Hawal
Express in Somalia finances al Shabaab group who are fighting against the Somali government.
The document signed by the chairman of the company, A/qadir Hashi Jimale, shows that Qaran
Hawala branch in Putland paid and gave Sheik Fu’ad Mohamed Khalaf, one of al Shabaab senior
officials 100,000$ while he was in Garowe, the capital of the semi-autonomous region of Puntland
in eastern Somalia.
The document written in Somali language which translates that the chairman of the
company orders to the manager of the branch in Puntland to give Sheik Fu’ad Mohamed Khalaf, one hundred thousand dollars.
