Top UN envoy for Somalia Ahmedou Ould Abdalla came to Mogadishu for unannounced visit, officials said on Monday.
The information minister of the Somali government Farhan Ali Mohamoud said that the UN's special envoy for Somalia Ahmedou Ould-Abdallah came to Mogadishu and met Somali president Sheik Sharif Sheik
Ahmed in the presidential palace.
The envoy has reportedly returned back to Nairobi immediately with out noticing.
It is not known what president Sheik Sharif Sheik Ahmed and the UN's special envoy for Somalia Ahmedou Ould-Abdallah talked about their meeting.
It is the first trip that the UN envoy for Somalia comes to Mogadishu since Sheik Sharif Sheik Ahmed was elected as president.
