Tension arose in Galka’yo city after armed gunmen killed a famous businessman in the town late on Saturday, witnesses said on Sunday.
Residents said Hersi Nor, the deceased businessman was a famous businessman in Galkayo and his killing angered many people in the town.
He was killed in the south of the city and it is yet unknown why he was killed but some reports say armed gunmen took him outside of the city and killed him.
Relatives said the late businessman was killed deliberately. The administration of south Galka’yo said they would capture the militia men who killed the man.
There are efforts to settle the tension in the town of Galk’ayo, the regional capital of Mudug region in central Somalia.
