Somalia: Sudan to print new money for Somalia

Sudan’s government said it would print new currency for the Somali government, Sudanese News Agency reported on Sunday.

The finance minister of the Somali government Sharif Hassan Sheik Adan reached Khartoum, Sudanese capital recently to talk with Khartoum about the proposal.

Sudan’s minister for finance Dr. Awad Ahmed Jaz and his Somali counterpart Sharif Hassan Sheik Adan met in Khartoum 29 April and Sudan pledged to help Somalia the printing of the bank notes.

Dr. Jaz said that Sudan will help Somalia about the development of the financial constitutions. He added that Sudan would renew the trade relations between Somalia and Sudan.

Somalia’s president Sheik Sharif Sheik Ahmed recently visited Sudan and met with Sudanese president Omar Hassan El-Beshir.

Somalia has a single bank note of one 1000 Somali Shiling which Somali businessman reprinted for many times.
