Two big blasts have rocked a house of al-Shabab officials in Mogadishu overnight, witnesses said on Sunday.
Witnesses said the house was partly destroyed by the blasts and no casualties have been reported yet. It is not known why the house was targeted, but there has been sporadic fighting between al-Shabab militias and the Islamic Courts Union that work with the Somali government in recent days.
Fighters loyal to an Islamist commander who were killed in Mogadishu carried out revenge attacks against al- Shabab. The spokesman of the Islamic Courts Union Abdurahim Isse Adow accused Friday al-Shabab of being behind the killing of a lawmaker and Islamist military commander.
The blasts that have been attacked to the Shabab officials are the first attacks of their kind against al-Shabab in Mogadishu.
Al-Shabab was the military wing of the Islamic Courts Union before the Ethiopian troops ousted them from power in mid 2006.
