French navy forces have handed over 11 suspected Somali pirates to Kenyan authorities after they tried to attack their warship, mistaking it for a commercial vessel.
Piracy is a major problem in the Indian Ocean. There has been 97 attempted attacks on merchant vessels in the Gulf of Aden so far this year - and 27 of them were successful.
